AnDraea Keene: AnDraea and S2P Bio

AnDraea Keene

An’Draea Keene is an anointed singer, songwriter, and praise and worship leader from Washington DC. Her journey began as a teenager, where she was introduced to classical music in a performing arts program at Suitland High School. An’Draea’s musicianship earned her various solo performance opportunities around the Washington area. In high school she made Maryland All-State Chorus (Ocean City, MD) every year as well as All Eastern Regional Honors chorus (Syracuse, NY), in which she was chosen from hundreds to be a soloist. She was also a member of an R&B/gospel group, Essence of Soul, which earned the attention of Columbia records, who wanted to sign them to a recording contract at the time. However, the group divided when some members refused to record anything but gospel music. The group was never signed. Although An’Draea was disappointed in the split, she greatly respected her friends who refused to compromise their faith in Christ for a music career- and she never forgot their witness. Finally, she earned a scholarship to Morgan State University, where she was regularly used as a classical soprano soloist in the world reknown Morgan State University Choir.

An’Draea’s award-winning matriculation included winning the Gold Medal in the Rosa Ponselle All-Marylander’s Classical Competition for Young Singers; and 1st place in the National Association for Teachers of Singing Competition (Maryland) for three consecutive years. Additionally, she has done solo work with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, in the debut of his first major orchestral work, “All Rise” at Carnegie Hall; Kurt Masur (New York Philharmonic Orchestra); and Bobby McFerrin. In 1998, AnDraea was the featured soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in their annual Community Outreach Concert Series. She has also performed as a choral soloist with Philadelphia Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Sinfonietta, and other major orchestras. Her extensive experience at Morgan State exposed her to all genres of music including classical, jazz, gospel, and pop; as well as to other great gospel artists like Richard Smallwood, Karen Clarke-Sheard, and Kim Burrell. An’Draea credits the depth of her musical experience to great teachers and mentors- Mr. Ronald Johnson, Ms. Myra Merritt, Mrs. Betty Ridgeway, and the late Dr Nathan Carter.

After receiving Christ as Lord in her last year as an undergrad, An’Draea began writing her own music. Subsequently she forewent the opportunity to continue to pursue her classical career, and decided to follow her heart and her call to ministry. She has served as worship leader for Tabernacle of Praise Ministry in Landover Hills, Maryland. An’Draea has earned a Bachelors Degree in Music from Morgan State University, and a Masters of Education Degree from Regent University. She counts it a unique privilege to share her gift of music as a full time music teacher in Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland. She is married to Keith Williams and has a step-daughter Briana and a son Jeremiah. In 2006 she released her first gospel CD-“Xstatic”, and is currently recording her next project with her group Saul2Paul, of which she is a founder. Saul2Paul Project is an evangelistic ministry whose purpose is to use music as a tool to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and uplift the Body of Christ. AnDraea is excited about serving the Lord now more than ever before!

Saul2Paul Project: The Vision (Acts 9:1-20)

Saul2Paul Project: The Vision (Acts 9:1-20) A man named Saul was on a road to a place called Damascus, where he was headed to torment and murder followers of Jesus Christ. But on his path to destruction he had a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ Himself. Saul was instantly converted, and from that time on took on a different name to testify of his dramatic change. Saul2Paul Project is about change. It’s about reconciling people to God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Like Paul once was, every person is on an eternal “Road to Damascus” before receiving Jesus Christ as Lord. S2P seeks to present Christ in such a way that causes them leave the Damascus road, and instead walk “The King’s Highway”. In accordance with this philosophy, An’Draea Keene, founder of S2P, wants to reach people everywhere for Christ with the gifts God has given her. Miss Keene is developing the infrastructure of S2P to present the Gospel through music and evangelism.

Saul2Paul Project has been ministering throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area since 2006.  They have graced the Pavilion Stage at the National Monument and performed at the Black Family Reunion Gospel Stage; this in additional to ministering at many local churches and community events. A young and growing ministry, Saul2Paul is made up of people of different backgrouds and church affiliations, who all have the common love of music and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Goal of Saul2Paul Project is to operate in true biblical evangelism- winning the lost, retrieving the backslidden, and strengthening the weak. S2P believes that the highest priority of evangelism is the continued public proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes…” (Romans 1:16). ALL GOD'S PEOPLE ARE CALLED TO EVANGELISM! People are dying and loosing their souls; S2P uses the healing power of music filled with the message of the gospel to bring people to Christ Jesus. Saul2Paul Project is spiritually contracted to do construction for the building up and advancement of the Kingdom of God, because PEOPLE ARE GOD'S GREATEST PROJECTS!
